Dr. Espaillat's first motive is to make as much money as possible from his patients, especially from those elders on medicare.A 71 year old friend of mine, who has glaucoma,was operated by him at least ten times in a three year period. When he first saw this doctor, my friend drove to his office. This doctor promised him that he would prevent him from losing his vision. Two surgeries later, my friend could no longer drive,and after the folllowing two, he was completely blind. How come this doctor could still operate him six more times, without any success. By the way, he paid my friend $1,000 dollars a month in exchange for some collection items and jewelry he'd taken from him. In the end, and after the medicare no longer approved payments for any more eye surgeries, this doctor dumped my friend and even had him and his wife kicked out of his office, when they went to talk to him about the jewelry the doctor didn't pay them for. This happened in May,2009.

"I was really quite nervous about getting my eyes done! My husband had his done a couple of months ago with Manrique and has not been able to see very well. Scared to put myself at risk i went to the other eye doctor Dr. Pena. I was very impressed with their service; they took care of me. Everyone was very nice and I was super impressed with the testing they did before they said I was a candidate. Even my husband was comenting in how better they are in price and service compared to Manrique.Janie Escobar

After doing my own researh about Lasik in the Rio Grande Valley i choose Pena Eye Insitute in McAllen. From the moment i called to set up the appointment to the last post-up visit i have been given the attention,explanation, clarification, and kindness from all the staff there. Compared to the other eye doctors i recommend Dr. Raul Pena and his staff. Great Job and i now see great!

I can't believe these folks are still doing business. Stay far away from them. Crooks. They do NOT stand behind their products. They do NOT care one bit about the patient. I am a customer service specialist and I have NEVER seen such abhorrent service, not even in one of my demonstration videos of poor customer service. A complete rip off and they should be shut down.

I had a crystal lens exchange surgery there. I spent $8,000 for both eyes. And then they charged me Follow-up treatment too. I paid over $400 for the treatment,. But I still wearing a reading glass. IT's been 10 months after the surgery. And the staffs are rude too.

Not sure where the other reviewers went to get such great service, but my experience was horrible, meaning I have had better optical experiences at chain stores!! It took over a month for me to get my glasses and this was only after I called and called and called. I was always told they would check into it and call me back, but they never called me back.
After I ordered my glasses I did a little research and found the exact same frames with glass lenses from an on-line retailer for one third the cost of this 'boutique'!?!?! I can understand needing to make a buck, but that is too much of a mark up.
When I got the glasses, they fitted them for me, but they were not right. I told them they were not right but was told I was just not use to the weight of glass lenses. Well, long story short, I went to Perle Vision down the road when my wife needed glasses and they adjusted them for me.
I would avoid this place, look elsewhere for your eye care as this place is expensive and the service is horrible.

I can't put into words the amount of amazing effort Dr. Schuster and ALL his team put forth for my care. I really can't. I am beyond pleased with the process and all it entails.
First off the consultation was informative, helpful and once I spoke to the staff and Dr. Shuster I was convienced I was blessed to even be witness to such a legacy as Dr. Schuster is and has developed. I had without a doubt picked the best place, staff and doctor to do LASIK/PRK with...If I was gonna choose to do this I apparently picked THE best doc in America, I am sure of it now. Afterall I only have one pair of eyes right?
Secondly, I came in several weeks later (only that much later because of my schedule) to have the procedure done. Even though my nerves we working overtime the staff never left one feather unruffled (so to speak). They made me feel sooo comfortable and so cared for that I even sent my husband on his way even though he could have watched to procedure. The procedure itself was so quick, painless and easy. Dr. Schuster and his staff talked me through it and it was amazing.
I had to go back for an early morning check up the morning after the procedure to find the staff friendly and joyful to be at their jobs....amazing to me since today it is rare. Everyone was wonderful.
I have to see them one more time and feel saddened that it will end my visits with them as they have treated me wonderfully.
I recommend this Eye Center, specifically Dr. Schuster 1 million percent if that existed!!!

My wife went there for her first pair of glasses and exam and they ended up taking complete advantage of her and charged her close to $1500!!!! Total rip off and very unscrupulous. Avoid if possible

I saw the commercial for the Crystalens on TV and I new it was finally time for my cataract surgery. I asked around and West Boca Eye Center was consistently recommended as the best in Florida and I couldn't agree more. Both of my surgeries were quick and smooth (each under 10 minutes!) and I cannot say enough about my vision. Thank you to Dr. Bellotte and Dr. Habash of West Boca Eye Center!

Laser Vision Correction can be performed in several ways. The most common method is by using LASIK.
